CSCS Scheduled Maintenance – November 10th, 2011

The next regular scheduled maintenance day for CSCS systems is exceptionally Thursday November 10th.

On that day all systems will be affected, with the expected downtimes from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM.

You will be informed as the systems come back in service.

Please remember that “Monte Rosa” goes down for the upgrade and  should be back in production on November 28th. If you wish to start  porting your code on Interlagos/Gemni please ask for an account on gele.cscs.ch.

Once more remember that Rosa scratch file system will be rebuilt, that is /scratch/rosa will be completely wiped out. NO DATA is going to be  migrated to the new /scratch.

CSCS Scheduled Maintenance – October 5th, 2011

The next regular scheduled maintenance day for CSCS systems is Wednesday October 5th.

On that day the following systems will be affected, with the expected downtimes as indicated:

* Front-end system:
Ela: no maintenance scheduled but for ela1

* Cray XT5:
Rosa:   08:00 – 17:00 HW and SW testing

* Cray XE6:
Palu:   08:00 – 18:00 HW and SW upgrade

* Cray XMT:
Matterhorn: no maintenance

* SGI Altix UV:
Rothorn: no maintenance

* Viz and post-processing:
Eiger:   no maintenance
Rigi:     no maintenance
Julier:  08:00 – 12:00  SW testing

* File System and Storage:
/home , /apps,  /project: no maintenance

* Network: no maintenance

We shall inform you as soon as the maintenance is complete.
