During the next scheduled maintenance on April 10th ela.cscs.ch will return to have the sole purpose of being CSCS front-end, that is you will no longer have Monte Rosa programming environment as default.

From April 10th on, Monte Rosa will have three new very powerful external  login nodes with the same processes as the compute nodes. This will help greatly when building applications.

To access CSCS users need to ssh ela.cscs.ch

To access Monte Rosa’s external login nodes users simply need to ssh rosa.cscs.ch

there will not be any overlapping time for this change. From April 10th on If you want to to access a specific node you have to explicitly ask for it.

Also note that /scratch, /project and /store will be mounted directly on the  nodes for high performance file transfer. All your batch scripts and compilation should run as before.
