Today at 7.30 AM “Monte Rosa” has been shut down. The last calculations to ever be run in Manno just finished!!
The Cray experts are going to disassemble the system, pack it and move it in the next couple of days to the new CSCS in Lugano. The system is expected to be back in service on April 11, 2012.
Together with “Monte Rosa”, also “Piz Julier“, the IBM x3850, and “Eiger“, the DALCO visualization cluster, were shut down and will be moved downtown Lugano.
During the morning all CSCS systems will not be accessible in between 9.30 and 12:00, and some further short interruptions of the services will be experienced in the afternoon as well.
